Please follow these steps to make your requests in PowerSchool. You are expected to have your scheduling form and course requests made in PowerSchool before you meet with your counselor for your individual scheduling meeting.
Login to your Power School
Click on the class registration icon (left hand side of the screen).
Use the pencil icon on the right-hand side to select courses.
Make sure you have 7 classes EACH semester.
Match courses/course number from your course request worksheet in the pull-down menu for each subject area.
Click the submit button often to save your course requests (bottom right-hand corner of screen).
Courses should appear in a list.
You will select 7 courses each semester, for 14 courses total. Here are some exceptions:
Construction Trades (ABC) - 8 courses (4 each semester)
The Pursuit Institute - 8 courses (4 each semester)
Internship - 12 courses (6 each semester)
Cadet Teaching - 12 courses (6 each semester)

Core Academic Course Sequencing
If you took English 9 as a freshman:
English 9 ☞ English 10
Exceptions: Letter grade of "A" can request to go into English 10 Honors with a teacher recommendation.
If you took English 9 Honors as a freshman:
English 9 Honors ☞ English 10 Honors
Exceptions: Letter grade of "C+" must go into English 10
*Students who took English 9 Honors can choose to take English 10
If you took English 10 as a sophomore:
English 10 ☞ English 11 Literature and Composition OR ACP Speech / Discovering Lit L-111
Exceptions: Letter grade of "A" can request to go into English Language & Composition AP or English Literature & Composition AP with a teacher recommendation.

Senior Year: All students on the Core 40 Diploma track must earn credits in: Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. All students who plan to earn an Academic Honors Diploma are required to earn 8 math credits.

When thinking about your next science course, it is important to also consider your math grade from this year, too.
If you took Biology as a freshman:
Biology and a "B" or higher in Algebra 1 ☞ Chemistry
Biology and a "C+" or lower in Algebra 1 ☞ Earth & Space Science, Environmental Science, or Zoology
Biology and Algebra I with "A's" ☞ ACP Chemistry (Teacher Recommendation)
If you took Biology Honors as a freshman:
Biology Honors with a "B" or higher and Algebra 1 with an "A" ☞ ACP Chemistry (Higher level math acceptable too)
Biology Honors with low grade or low interest in science ☞ Chemistry
Junior and/or Senior Year: Students are required to earn 6 science credits for all diploma types. All students must have completed Biology and one of the following science classes by the end of their junior year: Integrated Chemistry/Physics, Chemistry, or Physics.

If you have not taken a Social Student class in high school you have two options to choose for sophomore year:

You MUST have completed PE 1 (and PE 2 for class of 2027-2028) to take a PE Elective.
Athletic Weights is reserved for student-athletes.
Art Electives
You MUST take the Principles of Digital Design 2D/3D course to take any of the advanced level Art Classes.
FACS Electives-
You MUST take the Principles course before taking any other course in a specific pathway.
PLTW Engineering-
Make sure to check the Prerequisites for the PLTW courses. Many of the courses are rigorous and require prior science/math skills.
Career/Technical Ed-
Juniors and Seniors have several opportunities to take courses on/off campus to further their studies in career and technical education areas.
