Job Description: The effective library assistant:

• helps Media Assistant distribute library materials for curriculum support to teachers

  • tracks location of materials during summer school  

  • collects library materials at end of summer school

  • sorts and packs materials for return to lending sites.

• assists Media Assistant with student circulation 

  • checks library materials in and out 

  • prints pre-set reports from library management system

• maintains orderly and attractive collection and learning spaces; 

  • sets up stations and materials for anchor lessons

  • assembles maker space kits and other sets of learning materials

  • puts up bulletin boards

  • shelves books in call number order

• assists students with inquiry assignments as needed

• has excellent communication skills. 

• demonstrates punctuality, works steadily at any assigned task, and completes all work with consistent attention to detail

• maintains positive, friendly, and helpful interactions with all

Special Attire or Equipment Needed: Professional/business casual unless specified differently from school level administrator.  Must follow NNPS dress code.

Compensation Information: $10.40 per hour
