SmartMusic
As described on their webpage, SmartMusic is a web-based suite of music education tools that support efficient practice, helping musicians to develop and grow. This platform is usually $40 per student. But because of the recent crisis, they are offering subscriptions for free until the end of June! I am taking advantage of this offer, and I strongly encourage you to do the same. To access their website, go to www.smartmusic.com.
Parent Consent Required!
Before getting started, all students under the age of 13 years old MUST have parent/guardian consent to use SmartMusic. You can give this consent via email. My email address is robert.deis@nn.k12.va.us. Starting next week, I will remove students from the class who do not have parent consent.
Here are instructions on how to sign up.
1) Go to https://admin.smartmusic.com/join.
2) Put in the code for your class. Make sure you sign up for the right class! Here are the codes:
- Beginner Band (6A, 6B, 7B): JE3UA-XHV6H
- 7th Grade Advanced Band (7A): WAJW4-DULRQ
- 8th Grade Advanced Band (8A, 8B): UMCK3-AHZP6
3) Complete the forms and enter all necessary information. If possible, use an email address that is NOT your child's school google address. This is NOT a valid email address since an email cannot be sent to them.
4) After you have completed steps 1 - 3, I will have to activate your account on my end. Please allow me 24 hours to do this. If you account has not been activated by then, please contact me. Once I have activated your account, you will have full access to everything provided by SmartMusic.
