INTRAMURALS

Intramurals are open to all students who have turned in the signed intramural form. They are Tuesdays and Thursdays and start right after school and end at 4:15. Parent pick up is at 4:15. Buses pick students up at 4:30 to take students home. Activities offered in fall and spring intramurals are soccer, flag football, archery, and fitness conditioning. The winter offerings are basketball, volleyball, archery, and fitness conditioning. Students are not permitted in intramurals without the correct intramural form. Parent notes are not accepted.

GMS ARCHERY

Archery Try-outs are October 29th, 30th, November 1st and 2nd. There will only be buses to take students home on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1st. The buses leave GMS at 4:30. Students who try-out on Oct. 29th or Nov. 2nd must have a ride home. Students must choose 1 day for try-outs. Students may not try-out more than 1 day. All equipment is provided for try-outs and team.

GMS TEAM SPORTS

GMS has 4 team sports open to boys and girls in all grades. They are Archery, Track, Volleyball, and Basketball. Archery try-outs are in late October. Track try-outs are the second week of school in early September. Volleyball try-outs are after winter break in early January. Basketball try-outs are in March. All try-outs, practices, and games are on Mondays and Wednesdays. Try-outs and practices start right after dismissal and end at 4:30. Bus transportation is provided for try-outs and practices. All middle school team sports except for archery require a VHSL sports physical from a doctor prior to try-outs.

The Tom and Anne Hunnicutt YMCA on Warwick Blvd. next to the James River Bridge is offering a free membership for all of our 7th grade students. All you have to do is print out the form or go to the YMCA and fill out the form for your 7th grader and they will be given a free membership for the entire school year.
