FAMILY INVOLVEMENT
We know that families are the most important and influential people in our students' lives. While we work hard at school to help students build important skills and habits, we recognize that families have the greatest long-term impact.
We will do our best to reach out to let you know when your child is being a positive contributor to class. We believe in giving focus and time to those who work hard to meet expectations.
We will also reach out when our class expectations are not being met. We approach communication from the perspective of what we would want from our own children's teachers. Families cannot help support their children if they are unaware of concerns.
We believe in early intervention and addressing concerns before they grow into larger problems. When we reach out to families, it is often with the goal of supporting students early and working together proactively. We want to address small issues before they become big problems.
Given the amount of students we see on a daily basis there are things that we will miss and times we will fall short. Families are always welcome to reach out for updates, questions, or concerns.
We put a lot of thought into the expectations and routines we create for students. We are always looking to do what is best for our students' long term growth. While there may be times when families may disagree with a particular expectation or approach, we are always open to conversation.
We believe in giving every student a chance. We are here to play a small part in helping your child grow. We truly want every student to succeed — not just in the gym, but more importantly, in life.
