Supported by Mayor Ras Baraka, the 33-story apartment tower, developed by Newark native Shaquille O’Neal, is nearing completion. To stand tall on 777 McCarter HWY, the concrete and brick building will contain 370 units, including 20% of units reserved as affordable units for low-income residents. Though construction is still underway, O’Neal expects it will be ready for residents to move in as early as next year.
