PWC Technology Education Program includes the Computer Science course and all other courses not in the Skilled Trades Stream (examples include Robotics or Communications Technology).
This course introduces students to software and hardware topics in computer science. The course provides opportunities to build skills in both block-based and text-based programming languages. Students’ purpose for programming is to control physical devices, such as sensors and motors. Students will use their coding and interfacing skills to develop a solution to an authentic problem in an innovation challenge. The skills acquired in each unit will help students attain the outcomes in the subsequent unit.
Robotics Systems Technology 3205
Robotics Systems Technology 3205 introduces students to robotics through the investigation of the electromechanical systems used in robots. Student teams collaborate to design and construct a robot. The course is intended for students who have an interest in electronics and robotics and who may wish to pursue post-secondary opportunities in engineering, electronics or robotics systems technologies.
