December 8, 2021: Worked through more practice with order of operations with decimals. Test will be December 14, 2021. Students have been aware of this for 2 weeks now.
December 2, 2021: Began order of operations with decimals. Worked through a number of examples in the notes.
December 1, 2021: Had a working class on division of decimals. 2 worksheets posted on Google Classroom. Students are expected to work through questions until they have a good understanding for homework. Answers are found after the worksheet on Google Classroom.
November 30, 2021: Worked through more division of decimals. Assigned page 106-107 #'s 1, 5, 6ab to be completed in class. Anything not completed is expected to be done for homework.
November 29, 2021: Continued division of decimals. Began doing them without models. Will continue tomorrow. Assignment due Friday, December 3, 2021.
November 25, 2021: Worked through more multiplying decimals examples. Please note a mistake in question #8 MC on the assignment, correction is in the comments on Google Classroom.
November 24, 2021: Worked through multiplication of decimal numbers without models. Also did a review of multiplication of 2+ digit numbers. Assigned pages 102-103 #8, 13a to be completed in class. Handed out Unit 3a Assignment, it is going to be collected on December 3, 2021.
November 23, 2021: Worked through the addition and subtraction of decimals that we completed yesterday. Began multiplying decimals with base ten block models.
November 19, 2021: Had a mental math quiz today. Will continue with subtraction of decimals on Monday.
November 16, 2021: Began unit 3. Started addition of decimals. Started multiplying decimals by 1000, 100, 10, 0.1, 0.01, 0.001 for mental math. Quiz will be on Friday.
November 10, 2021: Completed problem solving today. Will begin addition and subtraction of decimals Tuesday.
November 9, 2021: Completed a practice test in preparation for test tomorrow. Answer key is on Google Classroom.
November 3, 2021: Worked through unit 2 review, pages 79-80.
November 1, 2021: Worked through plotting points on a graph. Worked through Examples 2-5, anything not complete was assigned for homework. Math test will be given next Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
October 28, 2021: Reviewed subtraction of integers with number lines. Assigned page 21 in the notes as well as page 73-74 #1, 3, 4. Page 21 was the only thing to be completed for homework, the other questions are extra practice.
October 22, 2021: Worked through subtraction of integers with integer tiles. Assigned page 18-19 "Practice Problems" to be complete in class. If not completed in class it was assigned for homework.
October 21, 2021: Reviewed addition of integers. Assigned a worksheet as well as page 62 #'s 1-2 to be completed in class. Anything not complete was assigned for homework.
October 20, 2021: Corrected the homework from last night and reviewed the material. Introduced subtraction of integers. No homework assigned.
October 19, 2021: Worked through addition with number lines. Assigned up to page 13 in notes to be completed in class, if not complete it was assigned for homework.
October 18, 2021: Worked through modelling integers and addition with tiles. Assigned page 54-55 #'s 1, 2, 6 and page 58-59 #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 to be worked on in class. Anything not completed was assigned for homework.
October 15, 2021: Began unit 2. Worked through definition of integers as well as a few examples of when they apply to real world.
October 13, 2021: Began the last section of Unit 1. Worked through using algebra tiles to solve expressions. Numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, 21, 22, 24 on the worksheet in Google classroom to be completed for homework if not finished in class.
October 4, 2021: Collected assignments. Continued more word problem questions. Assigned page 26 in the notes to be completed in class, if not complete it was homework.
September 28, 2021: Worked through input/output tables. Assignment is now due on Monday, October 4, 2021.
September 27, 2021: Completed a lesson on order of operations. Worked through input and output tables in the second class. Assignment is due on Friday, October 1, 2021.
September 23, 2021: In the first class, worked through mental math and some extra practice. In the second class, began working on algebra with an introductory lesson.
September 22, 2021: Started with more mental math on divisibility. Quiz will be Friday. Students worked on their extra practice when complete. Students are expected to complete Levels 1, 2, and 3.
September 21, 2021: Worked through more mental math divisibility. When complete they were assigned a worksheet to work through.
September 20, 2021: Began mental math on divisibility rules. A small quiz will occur the first part of Friday's class on these rules. Extra practice was assigned to those who had finished their work.
September 17, 2021: Corrected Venn and Carroll diagram worksheet. Began working Divisibility Rules extra practice.
September 16, 2021: Worked through a set of divisibility rules, Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams worksheets. Students were given 1.5 classes to work on these and anything not complete was expected to be completed for homework.
September 15, 2021: Completed a zero divisibility lesson. Began working with Venn and Carroll diagrams. An example page in the notes was assigned to be completed for homework if not completed in class.
September 14, 2021: Assigned divisibility rules worksheet. Anything not completed was assigned for homework.
