Eighteen years an English teacher, and so many words and classroom experiences later. Each one read, not enough recorded, and all of them so very meaningful.
Mom always said to me that I needed to write more of it down; to keep a documentation of all the names and funny or aggravating or unbelievably inspiring stories that make up my years in a classroom. You won't remember it all, you know! Today, January 12th, was the day I finally let words meet screen.
Not sure where this may lead. But I finally put the words down, fixing them into place to be shared somewhere with someone.
Though each thought may not be solely focused on classrooms and all the students I encounter, I hope it will be an example of writings that readers can enjoy.
✍My Blog: Writing Like a Reader
As an appreciation of my love for reading and the great authors who mastered the art of creativity through prose and verse, and a challenge to my desired growth as an ELA teacher and personal writer, I purchased (...some time ago) a book called Creative Writer's Notebook: 20 Great Authors & 70 Writing Exercises as inspiration to my desire to create more of what I love: written text. I started the frst entry as I rounded out a very relaxing week of spring vacation doing what I love most: reading, admiring natural scenery, and spending time with my beloved.
Each new exercise will be added to this running document, with details about the authors who inspire each styling applied to the wiring.
