Acrylic on canvas paper (9X12)

It was a fall-inspired beginning which took an unexpected tropical twist. Before I knew it, my pallet of yellow, burnt orange, gold, and an assortment of green hues took me to an exotic-themed garden as twilight falls upon the earth.
The first stars of evening twinkle overhead while an effervescent glow remains around foliage, glowing in the last of days' light. While the vibrant colours draw attention down, there is something in the silkiness of a night sky that invites the viewer skyward. Pulled between both perspectives, however, it is not tension but comfort felt; comfort leaving behind a sun-soaked, humid breeze for the gentle coolness of ocean air whispering among palm fronds, a relief to the skin. The scent of hibiscus and salty ocean spray mixed with spicy wafts of dried bark and detritus cushion covering the rainforest floor.
This is the exotic escape from autumn hues which speak of winter's coming. It is a garden in the blue hour - the twilight.
