Who pays for the Conference Fee?
Traditionally the conference fee has been paid by either the administrator's school or the employer in the case of program specialists. Travel, and lodgings have traditionally been subsidized and supported by various organizations, and we are working hard on securing this support this just now. More information should follow after Easter on this. That being said, the conference is filling up fast, and we encourage you to register as soon as possible. This reserves your spot, and provides us with important data on where people are coming from as we continue to advocate for additional support. including the potential provision of sub leave.

Why should I come ?
For so many of our members, the decision to attend a conference is often a challenging one. There are often challenging choices that have to be made in order to attend. As an organizing committee that has nearly 100 years of educational leadership experience between us we would say the following are key reasons that attendance at SAC 2024 is a must:
1) The focus of the conference is on leading forward, maintaining positivity and inspiring hope. These are vital messages in this challenging work that we take part in every day. It will be a time to reflect, and to celebrate the amazing work that happens in our schools every day.
2) The conference is an unbelievable opportunity to build your network of colleagues. We know that this is a key resilience factor in leader retention. Many of those at the conference have been through so many situations, and they can provide an excellent sounding board for the challenges that exist in our schools. The best learning is often engaged in over a lunch period or a coffee. it is a great chance to build and develop your network.
3) Although it seems counterintuitive to servant leaders (we often try and direct all of our resources towards our students and faculty)- you need to prioritize your own growth. The more that we present as learners within our buildings, the more we expand our toolkits, the better we are able to help our people to grow. Our classrooms may be where the rubber hits the road, but we need highly skilled drivers to move education forward!
4) Possibly most importantly, this is a conference developed by educational leaders, for educational leaders, about educational leadership in Newfoundland and Labrador. Your input has been hugely impactful as we developed the agenda, and we would love it if as many educators as possible were able to attend.
