Keynote address: Leading with Heart - Jen Schwanke
In this opening keynote session, attendees will enjoy a positive, humorous, and uplifting message of inspiration while also gaining important tips and tricks for the upcoming school year. We will discuss some of the challenges facing educators today using concepts from The Teacher’s Principal, considering how teacher purpose, priorities and patterns can be woven together to increase their impact and joy. We will discuss school climate, teacher morale, the concept of “support,” strategies for work-life integration, and suggest ways we can take care of ourselves—and one another—as we do this important work.

Afternoon Keynote: Wednesday, May 29, 2024: Leading Forward - Jen Schwanke
What does it mean to lead in today’s educational environment? Among other things, leadership requires knowledge, confidence, connection, and an ability to motivate the reluctant. In this session, we will discuss the importance of building trust, navigating difficult conversations, and keeping an eye on the “leadership long view.”
Principals will consider how to address the needs of their own staff using
evaluations, informal feedback, and professional development, and will discuss how collective efficacy will improve school culture and inspire change.
