Chad Herridge
My name is Chad Herridge, I'm originally from Fortune, and have been living in PCSP since 2008, my partner Charlene is from the Cove. I've worked at Pal Airlines from 2008 until 2017 as senior lead/part-time supervisor for ground services until I was taken off work for medical issues. We have 2 kids that attend Beachy Cove Elementary. I'm sure most kids by now have come to know that my son has autism and is non verbal, which can make communication a challenge for him. Having a child with special needs is never easy but you take the challenges head on. We have seen a lot of different departments that one wouldn't normally see, speech, OT, Student Support Services (IRTs), student assistants, alternative bussing.
I was a member of the inclusion committee for the town of PCSP as this is a very important issue for our family. Also along with other parents we have formed an advocacy group for parents with kids/adults with complex medical needs and disabilities Unseem Unheard No Longer (U2NL).
It is my hope that you will consider me for a position on the school council for the upcoming year and like I always said I will always speak for my son until he finds his own voice and that's a goal I promise to keep!
Kaylah Mercer
I’m Kaylah Mercer, proud parent of a Grade 1 student and soon-to-be parent of a Kinderstart participant in January. I am deeply engaged in our school community, regularly volunteering for the Breakfast Club and participating in field trips and Sports Days. I also take the initiative to stay informed on school matters by reviewing previous council meeting minutes.
In my professional life, I work for the provincial government in policy and information management. My volunteerism includes serving as Vice President of the Canadian Evaluation Society - NL Chapter and as Secretary and Board Director for Choices for Youth. I thrive on analyzing data and opinions to craft effective solutions and seize new opportunities. In my downtime, I enjoy Pilates, baking, and travelling with my family.
I am committed to gaining your support in driving conversations around inclusivity, implementing innovative ideas, and providing a strong parental perspective in our decision-making processes. I am confident that my skills and experiences will add significant value to the Council and help advance the fantastic initiatives at Beachy Cove Elementary School. Thank you for considering my candidacy!
Tina Mulrooney
Hi, I’m Tina Mulrooney, a proud parent of a Grade 2 student and a future kindergartener. With over 15 years in Human Resources and a background in Labour and Employment Relations, I bring strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to the school council. I have experience in union-management consultation and was recently recognized nationally by HR Operations for handling complex files with fairness, professionalism, and collaboration above beyond my role. I am committed to building positive partnerships and promoting inclusivity. An active volunteer in PCSP, I’m involved with the local Girl Guides of Canada unit, the BCE Breakfast Club, and other school initiatives. I value our educators’ leadership and would be proud to strengthen the school–family–community connection. I would be honoured to have your vote.
Meghan Paddon
My name is Meghan Paddon, and I’m the mom of two grade one students. I’m an educator with a background in Special Education and a passion for supporting inclusive learning environments. Having worked in schools for several years, I understand the importance of strong home–school connections and collaborative decision-making. I also went to Beachy Cove myself, so the school holds a special place in my heart.
