STUDY WITH . . . . . FLASHCARDS
Flashcards lets you study text-based Quizlet sets and study these sets on the Quizlet website just as you would real flashcards.
Getting started:
Select "Flashcards" to start a study session. Definitions are shown first by default. To see your terms first, open the "Options" menu and select "Answer with Definition" from the drop-down menu. You can also select both to see a term and definition at the same time.
To flip a card and view the term, click anywhere on the card or use the spacebar on your keyboard. To advance or go back a card, use the arrow buttons below the card or the right and left arrow keys.
STUDY WITH . . . . . GRAVITY
Gravity lets you study text-based Quizlet sets and study these sets on the Quizlet website just as you would real educational game.
Getting Started:
Select "Gravity" to start a study session. Type your answers as the asteroids fall. Each right answer gets you one step closer to leveling up. As you pass levels, the force of gravity increases and the asteroids start to fall faster for added challenge.
Setting up your game:
Click on the Gravity icon, then click on the Get Started button to configure your game settings. The level of difficult you pick determines how quickly your terms or definitions fall. On Easy, your terms will always fall slowly. If you choose Medium they'll start slowly and increase in speed. Should you choose hard, they'll start falling quickly. When everything is set up the way you want it, click on Let's go to take off!
Playing the game:
To get points for an answer, you have to type it in correctly before the asteroid falls past the answer text box at the bottom of the screen. If you're not sure of an answer, you can press the Escape key to skip it and Gravity will show it to you again later.
If you miss an answer, you'll be prompted to retype it before moving on.
Advancing levels and ending the game
Every seven terms, you advance a level and move to a more massive planet where the force of gravity increases and asteroids fall faster. Terms or definitions you've missed will come back as red asteroids. If you get a red asteroid answer wrong, the game ends. Students — if your teacher uses Class Progress to track your study activity, be sure to end your game so you get full credit.
High scores
When you finish a game, you'll see where you place among your classmates.
STUDY WITH . . . . . LEARN
Select "Learn" to start a study session. Learn will quiz you with different types of questions including flashcards, multiple choice and written responses. As you begin to answer questions correctly more consistently, Learn will advance from easier questions (multiple choice) to harder ones (written).
To customize your Learn session, open the Options menu.
From there, you can select which side you'd like to be prompted with, choose to study only your starred terms, turn audio on and off, turn on flexible grading, and select the types of questions you'd like to see.
For multiple choice questions, select an answer and Quizlet will tell you if it was right or wrong. For flashcard questions, select Got it for terms you know and select Study again for terms you don't. To move to the next question, press any key to continue.
For written questions, type in an answer and press Enter or select Answer. Quizlet will tell you if it was right or wrong. If you're not sure of an answer, you can select Don't know? to view the correct answer and copy it before moving on to the next question.
Mastering terms and tracking progress:
Learn will track your progress as you review. To finish a round of Learn, you will need to correctly answer each question twice. When you answer a question correctly once, it will be labeled as Familiar and given a check mark. When you answer a question correctly two times, Learn will label it as Mastered and give it two green check marks.
After each round, you'll see all the terms grouped by level of mastery — Familiar or Mastered.
Select the mastery level buttons at the top of the round results to see which terms are in each group. Select Continue to keep studying.
* * Learn asks you the same question multiple times until you have thoroughly mastered the term. You can follow the progress of terms through different levels of mastery in the progress bar. Typically, you'll have to answer a written question correctly twice to master a term.
