WorkAbility and Transition Partnership Program

2023-2024

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Nevada Joint Union High School District (NJUHSD) offers a continuum of transition services for students with special needs, as they transition from high school to adult life. Our transition team works with students, families and staff to plan appropriate post-secondary goals, explore training, teach job skills and provide various resources. These services are a collaborative effort between our schools, community agencies and local businesses.  Services are provided in individual and group settings.

Now in its 42st year, WorkAbility I (WAI) is funded by a CA Department of Education grant. WAI is available for all district 9-12+ graders with an IEP. WAI assists with student transition from school to work and adult living. Not all students are expected to be ready, or find or want employment while in high school. The focus of WAI is on work-readiness skills and independent living.

The Transition Partnership Program (TPP) grant is a collaboration of NJUHSD and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation(DOR). TPP serves eligible and interested students with disabilities and generally begins around the age of 16 (application and parental consent required). For more information regarding TPP, please contact our staff.

Transition services offered through WAI and TPP may include:
