As a Geotechnical Lab Intern at ANS Geo, I engaged in essential laboratory work that enhanced my practical understanding of geotechnical engineering and soil analysis. My responsibilities included performing various laboratory tests on rock and soil samples, such as CBR testing, Atterberg plasticity, and wash sieve analysis. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop proficiency in conducting precise and reliable tests that contribute to foundational engineering projects.
In addition to lab work, I took an active role in organizing and compiling comprehensive lab analysis reports, ensuring that data was accurately documented and ready for use in engineering evaluations. I also assisted with equipment calibration both in the laboratory and in the field, which was pivotal in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of test results
This internship at ANS Geo provided me with a robust understanding of soil mechanics, data reporting, and equipment management. The experience honed my analytical skills and taught me the importance of meticulous attention to detail in engineering processes. These insights and skills continue to be instrumental as I progress in my journey toward a career in chemical engineering.
