* Reading class will focus on strategies/skills good readers use, author's purpose, author’s viewpoint, main idea, analyzing texts, and genre studies. The reading class will also work on fostering a love of reading for pleasure and to gain knowledge.
* The ELA class will focus on word study, author's craft, grammar/usage, speaking and listening skills, and writing.
*Vocabulary study will be ongoing in both classes.
*Students in my reading classes will fulfill a reading requirement each nine week period. The number of pages students are required to read is subject to increase each nine weeks.
*Syllabus subject to change due to flexibility in scheduling and the needs of the students.
