Meet the team
Dr. Shubhankar Majumdar
[TEAM LEAD]Dr. Shubhankar Majumdar (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in RF microelectronics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India, in 2016. From 2017 onwards, he was the mentor of the startup SOIL Agritech Private Limited. Since December 2017, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Meghalaya, Shillong, India. He has authored over 65 articles published in renowned journals, book chapters, peer-reviewed conferences, and two granted patents. He is currently supervising ten Ph.D. scholars. He has successfully guided 20 undergraduate and five postgraduate scholars. He has received ten sponsored projects worth $1 million. His research interests include GaN-based power amplifier design, device circuit co-design framework, semiconductor device modeling, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, device automation, circuits, and systems. Dr. Majumdar received several awards, such as the Marie Curie Actions Seal of Excellence Award from the European Commission and two postdoctoral scholarships from the Italian Government and the Government of India. He has been a Technical Program Committee Member in IEEE’s international conferences, including VDAT, iSES, VLSIDCS, and DeVIC. He is also the Faculty Advisor of the IEEE MTT-S Student Branch Chapter at NIT Meghalaya.

Pursuing - PhD Student:
Dariskhem Pyngrope - Modelling of Ultra-wide Bandgap semiconductor materials
Dariskhem Pyngrope has obtained her B.Sc. degree in Electronics from St. Edmund's College and her M.Sc. in Electronics from the University of Calcutta. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at NIT Meghalaya. Dariskhem has published papers on GaN HEMT and Gallium Oxide-based devices. Her areas of interest include Microelectronics, Semiconductor Device Physics, Device & Process Simulation, and the Mathematical Modeling of Wide Bandgap and Ultra-Wide Bandgap semiconductors.
Amartya Paul - RF Sensor for Non-Destructive Testing
Amartya Paul has obtained his B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication from SLIET, Sangrur and M.Tech degree from NEHU, Shillong. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from NIT Meghalaya. He published his paper on RF filter design for non destructive testing of civil structures. His area of interest include passive circuit design for microwave imaging applications.
Rajib Das - Indoor Air Quality: Instrumentation and Modelling system
Rajib Das obtained his B.Tech from West Bengal University of Technology in 2011 and his M.E.Tel.E from Jadavpur University in 2013, with a GATE fellowship. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering at the National Institute of Technology–Meghalaya. He received the JRF award, qualified for UGC-NET in 2015, and presently working as an Assistant Professor, in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, West Bengal, India. He has published in three international journals and his research interests include IoT, air pollution, open-source SCADA systems, deep learning, and neuro-fuzzy systems.
Jintu Borah - Air Quality Monitoring and Prediction Model for SMART City Application Using Artificial Intelligence
Jintu Borah (Member, IEEE) received a master’s degree in electronic design and technology from Tezpur University, Tezpur, India. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree funded by the AISTIC Project with the National Institute of Technology Meghalaya, Shillong, India. He works on developing an artificial intelligence

Gaurav Bhargava has obtained his B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication from L.N.C.T. Bhopal and Master’s degree from S.G.S.I.T.S Indore in Microelectronics and VLSI. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from NIT Meghalaya, Shillong. He published his papers on Low power VLSI applications. His area of interest include Filter design, GaN-based RF/millimeter-wave Power-amplifier design for mid-band 5G applications.
Kattekola Naresh - Approximate Computing
Kattekola Naresh has obtained his B.Tech degree from Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology & Science, Karimnagar, and Master’s degree from CVR Engineering College, Hyderabad. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in ECE Department, VNRVJIET, Hyderabad, and pursuing a Ph.D. from NIT Meghalaya, Shillong. He published papers on Low Power VLSI applications. His area of interest is Low Power techniques, Low Power VLSI Design, FPGA Implementation, Arithmetic Circuits, Approximate Computing.
