Damaged Books / Materials

Borrowers are expected to handle the materials they are borrowing and are responsible for any damage that occurs during their loan of the material. If library material is damaged the borrower will be fined a fee appropriate to the damage.

Before checking out books, we encourage our users to check their books for damage. If there is any damage please notify someone at the Check Out Desk so we can note that the damage occurred before you borrowed the item.

There are different types of damage we look for in our collection.  Below are some examples of damaged materials:

Water Damage

Torn Pages

Spine Damages

Highlighting and/or Pencil/Pen Marks

In case of any damage, please inform the library. Do not try repairing it by applying transparent tape, glue, or normal binding.
