Report Loss of Book Or Card

Cost Recovery of Books (Lost or Damaged)

Inform the Library(librarian@nitjsr.ac.in) about the loss. The following steps are taken in case of loss or damaged books.

1. The lost or damaged book should be replaced by only a new book with overdue charges (if any) with Rs.100/- processing charge. The processing charge applies to the replacement of books.

2. Secondhand book/ old book / used book is not acceptable. 

3. If the book is out of print or not available in the market, then three times the cost mentioned in the Accession register is charged.

4. The cost of the book in foreign currency is charged at the current month’s GOC rate of currency conversion.

5. The rate of overdue fines is Rs.0.50/day on all overdue books. Users are advised to return/renew the issued books before the due date.

Loss of Identity Card/ Library Card

1. Borrowers shall be responsible for any loss or misuse of their original/ duplicate card.

2. The loss of the Identity Card should be reported to the Institute Security Office and Circulation Counter of the Library. The concerned section will issue a duplicate Identity Card by collecting Rs.200/-, the cost of the same ID card.
