Congratulations to Anoop FR on the acceptance of his research work on the Residual Stress Evolution and Fatigue Response in Friction Stir Welded AA5052: An Experimental and Numerical Study of Tool Profile Effects for publication in the prestigious "Engineering Fracture Mechanics"  journal.

Congratulations to Manikandan M on the acceptance of his research works on the Influence of µ-EDM process parameters and discharge energy on dimensional accuracies and surface morphology in µ-EDM Ti-6Al-4V for publication consecutively in two journals namely, "Materials and Manufacturing Processes" & "Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part E: Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering".

Manikandan M secured the “Best Oral Presentation award”, for his work entitled, “Influence of MWCNT-mixed µ-EDM textured micro-dimples on the tribological behaviour of Laser-powder bed fused Ti-6Al-4V”, at the IndiaTrib Conference held at IIT Bhilai.

Vishnu S, Manikandan M, Anantharam GS, Vishnu VB along with Dr. Basil Kuriachen attended the IndiaTrib conference held at IIT Bhilai on Dec 14-16.

Jino Joshy, Vishnu S, Manikandan M, Akash Shaji and Pilli Abhishek along with Dr. Basil Kuriachen attended the AIMTDR conference held at IIT Indore on Dec 11-13.

Dr. Basil Kuriachen was granted a patent titled: “An Effective Method for Design Optimization and Fabrication of Cutting Tools Using Additive Manufacturing”.

Dr. Basil Kuriachen was awarded the "Best Teacher Award in the Assistant Professor category" on the occasion of the 65th Foundation Day of NIT Calicut.

Mr. Cyril T varghese and  Mr. Adith M secured placement at  Bajaj Pvt Ltd on PGTE roles. 

Mr. Antony joined the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering, IIT Madras, as JRF.

Dr. Sandeep OS defended his thesis entitled, "Investigation into the anisotropic behaviour of WAAM fabricated SS304L".

Mr. Jino Joshy was awarded the ANRF travel grant for attending the 24th Wear of Materials conference hosted by Elsevier at Sitges, Spain. He was also awarded the WOM student travel award.

Elsevier recognised Dr. Basil Kuriachen among the top 2% researchers in Asia.

Dr. Basil Kuriachen was awarded the Young Investigators Award for the year 2024 on the foundation day of NITC. This award recognizes mid-career achievements in research at NITC.
