In my artwork, “A Year Like No Other,” I explored the topic of Coronavirus and how it impacted us in 2020, and beyond. 2020 was an interesting year, we had our ups and downs but we pulled through.

In my artwork “A Year Like No Other” I explored the topic Black Lives Matter and how it impacted us in 2020, before, and beyond. I came up with the ideas I put on the paper by remembering all of the things from 2020 that happened with the black lives matter protests. The materials I used were pencil, sharpies, and colored pencils. I created it by starting with big bold letters that said “I can’t breath”. And “2020” I also put some signs that said “BLM!” and more with people holding them. I also added some more things that happened in 2020. The overall design contains symbols of what happened in 2020 and how it made everyone's life change during Covid-19.

In my artwork, “ A Year Like No Other,” I chose to explore the topics -Black Lives Matter, Covid 19, The Election/ Capitol Protest, how many people died, and Homeschooling and how it impacted us in 2020.
I created this project by thinking about all the things that happened in 2020 through 2021 and then picked 5 of the most important things that happened (in my opinion) to draw about.
I used only pencils and colored pencils to draw the whole thing but also used a ruler to make the boxes and lines.
In the final piece, the design was making it so it had just different spots on the page for everything. The meaning was just everything that happened in 2020, and, how it was A Year Like No Other.

In my artwork, “A Minecraft Year Like no Other”, I explored the digital world of Minecraft and how it impacted the online community throughout the year, before, and beyond. I created my artwork by adding the channel(s) profile pictures to the paper making it into a collage of Minecraft YouTubers. When I made this artwork I remembered my favorite Minecraft YouTubers from the Dream Smp which is an smp made by the Minecraft YouTube Dream. I made this artwork with Ibspaint and pictures I found off google. I made this because I loved the Minecraft community and how great the people are.

The theme of my artwork was mainly stuff that happened during 2020. I thought of how it would look during art class when we first talked about it. I put down bullets and wrote: doctors/caregivers, the protests, the elections, the wildfires, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a lot more. To create the artwork I used a pencil and colored pencils (drawing). I used the colored pencils to shade it so that it would look better. The final piece was meant to represent what a crazy year we ALL dealt with, but it was also meant to represent the good that came out of 2020. For one thing, I put some toilet paper at the bottom, because there was some pretty funny stuff about that this year. I also put the TikTok symbol because, during quarantine, the company of TikTok went worldwide! This is what my “Year Like No Other” artwork represented, and I hope it’s not for nothing.

In my artwork, “A Year Like No Other”, I explored the topic Black Lives Matter, and Coronavirus. I used a theme black and white for representing how a dark year it was. It wasn’t the term “colorful”, you could say. During the process, I tried drawing George Floyd, Kobe Bryant, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden. I didn’t like the way all of that turned out, so I printed photos of all these people. All the materials I used were a pencil, eraser, glue, and a printer. I outlined each picture of each person. I put names and “I can’t breathe” for of course George Floyd. Overall, I really like this drawing/collage and I tried my best to make it look good.

In my artwork “A year like no other” I focused on all the conservancy over things like the election, BLM, Coronavirus, and capitol riots. But I also put in other important things like all of the celebrity deaths and all the deaths in general. I thought of this because I wanted to remember this year and all that happened in it good or bad. That’s why I tried to include all of the big things that happened in that crazy year. I used a pencil to first get my ideas out on paper then for the final project I combined it all and used colored pencils to give it some color. My favorite part of the final design is that it puts all the wild things that happened in 2020 on one page. What this piece of artwork means to me is that if actually thinking about brings back bad memories just look at it all colored maybe you will not feel as upset.

In my artwork, “A Year Like No Other” I explored the topic of home learning and going back to school in the fall. I came up with this topic because home learning impacted us and what we learned about at the end of school last year and most of us hoping that we will go back to school in the fall.

In my artwork “A Year Like No Other,” I chose to explore the topics of, Black Lives Matter Movement, wildfires, COVID-19 and what it affected/caused, very sad deaths of people, the Presidential Election/Politics, and the Capitol riots. I chose these topics because I think they all had a big impact on the year 2020. One of the biggest impacts that affected our world was the tragic virus, COVID-19. So I thought it was very important to add symbols for that. The overall theme of the artwork was the main events of 2020. My thought process was just to think really hard about everything that had happened in 2020 and try to put all of the topics into 1 artwork. I used crayons to color each item in, and a pencil to draw each item. In my overall design and artwork, I tried to fit all of my topics in different areas to fill the page.

In my artwork, “A Year like No other”, I chose to explore the topic of social distancing, and Covid-19. I used a pencil to draw everything, and then I traced it with gel pens. I also used colored pencils to color everything in. My artwork is showing the Statue of Liberty wearing a mask, but instead of it being filled with people, it is filled with Coronaviruses. Inside some of the Covid-19 viruses, I made pictures of some other events that happened through 2020. Some of them include the election, Black lives matter, and learning at home. 2020 was a rough year for everyone and I think my piece of work presents 2020 a lot.

The first thing I did was make a concept map. Some subjects in my concept map are COVID, hope, family and school. I marked some things that happened at school and what scared me about COVID and going on trips and what gave me hope. I picked my favorite things and the things I could draw. When I think about this past year, I think about sickness, being scared, a lot of time with family and sometimes outside with friends.

Life, as we know, is not the best now. It all happened in 2020 March 18th to be exact. First, we got put into quarantine where everyone had to stay inside. Then all of us had to wear masks. For more than 1 year we have been wearing masks non-stop. My experience was in the middle (not terrible but not the best) because I couldn’t see my friends (still can’t) unless we are on facetime playing an online game. A little while later in days protests started happening and people chanted BLM (Black Lives Matter) to police because some police officers kill black people because they are “guilty” just because they are black. Like Breonna Taylor, she was shot 8 times by cops because she was black, and the cops went into the wrong house (Someone on TikTok posted this song… Arrest the killers of Breonna Taylor all of y'all who think we need more evidence you goofy. I said arrest the killers of Breonna Taylor and Elijah Mcclain too.). Don’t forget George Floyd who was suffocated by a cop who had his hand in his pocket and had his knee on his neck. Also talking about the killer of Elijah Mcclain, she was killed by a cop putting her in a choke-hold. Three people we know about were three innocent people that were black and killed by cops so I suggest we all say Black Lives Matter AND arrest the killers of Breonna Taylor AND arrest the killer of Elijah Mcclain AND arrest the killers of George Floyd.

There are so many things that have happened during Covid-19. An example is School has changed because we have more electronics in learning and also there is social distancing and we have masks. And Covid-19 has changed everybody’s lives. A lot of people are dying, also there is fear because you're afraid that if you or your family members get Covid.
My artwork is a collage because collages are super fun to do and they are cool and it is very interesting to do. I used google slides to do this collage I got the pictures from google slides this collage is about all the things that have happened during Covid.

My artwork is all about 2020. Covid was just something crazy that impacted my life. The masks were just so crazy you really only see them in shows and now it’s a big part of our lives. No one thought that quarantine was something that would happen to us. But here we are. On top of this, we have all of the protests. The protest became so violent. The BLM was a huge part of 2020. The changes of school we weren’t in school for about 3 months, this is horrible for our education. Now we’re in school wearing masks or staring at a screen on google meets technology took a big impact on our lives. In my artwork, I did a collage to take a break from drawing. I’ve put pictures together to sum up 2020.

In the past year there have been so many things that have gone on for example there have been protests for police brutality for Black Lives Matter. School has been different. We have had to do remote learning a little bit. We have had to learn to use technology such as computers for school. The biggest of all though is the Covid - 19 pandemic. A lot of people have lost their lives due to this pandemic. People have had to wear masks when out in public places. Scientists have been searching for a vaccine. In conclusion this is why my statement is the search for the vaccine!

In my reflections artwork the theme was all the big events that happened this year. I made a collage using pictures to represent this year as a whole. I included things like the Black Lives Matter protests and the 2020 election. As well as starting online school, coronavirus, and wearing masks. I put a big 2020-2021 sign in the middle and made my collage in full color. The overall main idea of my artwork was to highlight all of the major events that happened this past year.

This piece of artwork is a reflection of the year, you might see flowers but it's really about how in this world today there is so much darkness and sadness but there is always light. No matter who or what, there is always hope left somewhere, you just need to find it. I drew this to help people feel better, and know that everyone has bad times and days where you feel like you don't have any hope left, but there is always hope somewhere, even in the darkest of times!

This piece is depicting how the darkness, evil, and bad times from the past year have pulled us down in the world. It shows a person getting swallowed up by this and trying to get back to their friends and family. Their identity and thoughts have disappeared into the realm of darkness. I was inspired to make this art piece when I looked back onto quarantine over the summer and how it affected me. Not being able to see my friends, I felt very distanced from everyone. To make this, I first sketched out what I wanted to draw. I then inked everything that I needed for the drawing. After I chose my colors, I sketched a basic couple of lines for where the colors would separate. I chose to use warmer colors for where they wanted to get to, and a black for the darkness, and bad thoughts that were swallowing them up.

Let's face it, we have been through so much this year. I decided to touch on the BLM community, and the life destroyer that is the coronavirus. The BLM community has been through so much, and somehow found a way to do so much too. The coronavirus has forced everyone to distance themselves from their friends, family and so much more. Through it all, the BLM community, and so many other communities stuck together, and I wanted to reflect that with a drawing.

My artwork symbolizes the big changes and events in the year 2020. Many big and important things happened in 2020. My artwork reflects the presidential election, Covid 19, BLM protests, climate change, the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and online school. I made this by finding images on the web and creating a collage. 2020 was a year filled with disappointments, mourning, chaos, uncertainty, and most of all change.

This art is about the tragic wildfires of Australia. I wanted to make the fire pop more by adding more yellow to it. I also put holes in the trees because of all the animals that used to live there before the fires. Good thing lots of the animals were saved by firefighters and other people.

The reason I designed this artwork is one main thing. Follow your dreams. No matter how big or how little, “Reach for the stars so if you fall you land on the clouds.” I chose this because I think it's important, wherever you are in life, to try to reach the one goal in life you’ve always wanted to do and only with faith and a lot of determination and effort. You can get it. Just believe and again, “Reach for the stars so if you fall you land on the clouds.”
The process of making my piece started with the main idea I wanted to spread. No matter what people say, always shoot for your dreams, and mainly follow your dreams. I decided to show an intimidating house and the long path leading up to it, the long journey of completing your goal. The speech bubbles to the side represent people telling you, you can't do it. And your large shadow is scary and intimidating so here it gets you thinking, can I do it? The big takeaway is the fact that yes, yes you can. Have faith and use effort and you will make your dreams come true.

I made this to show about COVID-19 and to wear masks. I added the BLM fist because no matter what race anybody is people don't have different rights and abilities.

I made this drawing to represent at least some of the things that happened in this past year. I chose the things that I thought were the most important. The first being covid obviously and the second being black lives matter. I drew the most important essential things from covid: a mask, and hand sanitizer. I also drew those little covid ball things. While I was drawing the BLM protest I drew a person obviously but you are probably thinking their mask was on the wrong way. I did this on purpose to make a statement that nobody can seem to wear their mask the right way. I also drew a peaceful protest because I believe that those very violent protests were wrong but on the other hand this is a very deep issue that deserves attention and if that means rioting then they are entitled to do that. And the police are definitely in the wrong for some of the things they have done. That was my inspiration and that is how I think this year should be reflected.

My Reflections shows how 2020 changed so many things in regard of Covid-19. Also how covid caused a lot of situations like how it affected school and learning and supplies. And how the 2nd slide shows how quarantine felt like being locked inside your house. When I was making this reflection I was thinking of the things in 2020 that happened. I used google images in different sizes and rearranged them for this reflection.

2020 was a crazy year like no other. Black lives matter protests. Storming the capital, and well of course COVID -19. My piece is called seeing the year. The piece is about 2020 and how it was crazy for everyone and crazy for me. My dog turned 2 and I met new friends. So many things went on in 2020 here are a couple things, BLM the protests for black lives matter, the gay pride flag because there are a lot of gay people getting hate, COVID-19, more than 500,000 dead. So I guess 2020 like they say was a year like no other.

In my reflections slide, I put in pictures of famous people that passed away this year, including Kobe Bryant and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I also put a picture of a mask to show Covid-19, which hit our world hard this year. The presidential election also happened in 2020, which Joe Biden won. One of the most important things that happened in 2020 was the Black Lives Matter protests. I attached a picture of one of the protests. I hope in 2021, things will calm down, Covid-19 will come to an end, and things will go back to normal.

The inspiration for my artwork was basically just everything that has happened in the past year. With covid, virtual learning, blm, and other things it's been a pretty tough year. So I took all of that plus some things that have made life at home easier for me and put them into the collage. It was nice that I could put the important things of the year all in one artwork.

My artwork was made with an HB pencil, a bending stick to blend out the shading, a Micron Graphix pen for the lettering (2020) and a red Faber Castell India-ink based marker. This artwork reflects one of the biggest adjustments we had to make when Covid broke out- wearing masks. I had to get used to having to grab a mask whenever I had to go to a public place, for instance school or a store. It’s used to protect ourselves and others from Covid and illness. When we wear a mask out in public, we are helping each other out by diminishing illness together. The reason why I used red for the background was because first of all it outlined the mask to make it stand out more and the red looked good, but also red symbolises anger. At first, it was very obnoxious and a hassle to have to look for a mask (and it would usually take a lot longer than needed) before going out to a public place. This can go with other Covid adjustments such as qurrentining and socially distancing. But at least we're helping each other out. Hopefully in the future, we will be able to not have to wear masks in public. I also drew little covid germ thingies with x’s to represent that we had to wear masks in the first place because of covid, but the masks protect us from it. And that’s basically what my art piece meant.

I am drawing about covid-19 and masks. I am drawing this to show how masks and covid-19 have impacted our society. I chose to write about this because I think it was one of the worst things from 2020. Overall, covid and masks had an impact on 2020 and were good to reflect on.

Today I drew about covid 19, mask, online/computers, BLM, and voting. I drew these things because 2020 was a year of challenges for me and many other people. Even though covid happened and it was sad and it changed everything, people had to learn how to use masks and stay 6 feet apart. As a black boy in America I never used to pay a lot of attention to racist crimes but 2020 helped me realize that racism was a really big thing for me and it has to stop.

In my artwork “A Year Like No Other” I explored the topic of being home with family because of covid. I came up with this idea when we had to quarantine with family members and started getting ideas to make things or making things to play with.

I drew a Florida gator head/logo because the one thing that is helping me during this pandemic is the Florida Gators softball team.
I LOVE softball because it makes me so happy and reminds me that there is still hope and we will get through this TOGETHER and we all need to help each other to fix this.
Even though it is not the easiest thing to do, when I watch softball, it makes me forget everything that is happening outside.
Even in school when I feel sad that I can't do everything that we were supposed to do in 6th grade like lockers, changing classes, field trips and so much more I could think of. And that's why I drew a Gator head.
First, I painted the background
Then I found a picture of a Florida gator and sketched it out
Then I painted the gator
And lastly, I outlined it in paint

My artwork is about Covid-19 and how it changed many lives. My drawing is a mask and we have to wear masks in public so we don't get covid. My drawing represents strength because we have to stay strong while the pandemic is still going on. For example, most people try to stay 6 feet apart from other people so they don't spread germs. Also, my drawing represents hope because if we all wear masks and everyone is getting the covid vaccine, the world will be back to normal. I made this drawing with a pencil, colored pencils, and an extra mask I got from my classroom. First I traced the mask on to my paper, then I colored it in with the colored pencils.

The meaning of my picture is just remembering all the stuff that happened in 2019-2020,
To remind us of all we´ve been through. We are strong and can end covid for good. (please do I don´t like covid) How I made my art was by choosing words or names that appeared during covid. For example, you can find the word covid in there or black lives matter, to remind us all of everything we´ve been through.
