About
Since 2009, the Library at NISER Bhubaneswar has provided valuable hands-on experience to fresh graduates of B. Lib. Inf. Sc./M. Lib. Inf. Sc. Each year, a new batch of young library professionals is recruited and trained in various library sections. These former trainees have gone on to establish successful careers in the field.
Over the years, the NISER Bhubaneswar Library Trainee family has grown, but due to their varied years of service, the trainees had limited opportunities to connect with one another. Additionally, there was no centralized platform for them to communicate with the Central Library at NISER Bhubaneswar.
To address these needs, the NISER Bhubaneswar Library Trainee Alumni Network was established. The primary objective is to foster connections among the trainee alumni and leverage the professional network they have built. This platform aims to facilitate collaboration among former trainees as researchers or professionals, provide insights into employment opportunities, and encourage discussions on new topics in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS). By doing so, it accelerates their pursuit of knowledge and professional excellence.
Objective
Maintain strong connections among all former trainees of the NISER Library, ensuring they stay updated with the latest developments and activities at NISER, Bhubaneswar, and the Library.
Facilitate alumni connections to help them expand their professional networks, fostering opportunities for collaboration, career growth, and knowledge exchange.
Inspire others by showcasing the professional success stories of Library Trainees, serving as examples of achievement and motivation for current and future trainees.
Cultivate an environment that promotes knowledge sharing, where alumni can exchange ideas, insights, and experiences in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS).
Key Activities
Sharing updates on traditional and developing fields in LIS to keep the community updated.
