Longhorn Families,
As some of you might already know, Sendera Ranch Elementary was approved last spring to receive an expansion that will add several additional classrooms to our building. The plan is to have all of the new classrooms/expansions completed before the upcoming 2019/2020 school year. As you might have noticed, construction fences started going up yesterday to begin this process for us.
We wanted to assure you, that plans are in place for our school to run as normally as possible during this time with help of our district officials.
One procedure that has been altered already is the dismissal of our Kinder and First Grade Walkers. Instead of walkers being released through the playground, they will now be released from Exit #2 (which is still the same part of the building) the Kindergarten Exit. Teachers made this change yesterday and it went smoothly.
We will continue to update you with pertinent information throughout this process.
Thank you and have a great day!

Good Afternoon Longhorn Families!!
We have made it two weeks and seem to be settling down quite well into our school routines. We might still have a few things that need some adjustment, but all in all, we are doing quite well for just being two weeks into the school year.
I would like to thank everyone again for their patience during dismissal in the afternoons as well as remind parents/guardians to not park along Diamondback, near the 4-way stop signs, or come into the front parking lot of the school to pick up walkers. If you plan on driving to school to pick your children up (and don’t want to go to the car line that wraps around the back of the school) we ask that you park into the neighborhood and walk up using the sidewalks/crosswalks. Parking near stop signs and along Diamondback causes increased traffic and safety concerns. Again, thank you for helping keep our students safe.
**SOMETHING NEW**
Parents/Guardians,
Instead of giving you a very long email each week to highlight what is going on here at SRE, or have it all in a PDF and have to download it on your device, we are going to provide you a link to our SRE Google Website. This website will be updated weekly (if not daily) and provide you with several school wide items.
https://sites.google.com/nisdtx.org/sendera-ranch-elementary/home
This is new, so there might be some fine touches needed, but we wanted to share what we have so far. After clicking on the link, you will be able to navigate through several important items such as:
-2018/2019 Events Calendar (important dates)
-SRE News—just highlights of what is currently happening here at school
-Links to send ride changes in, Attendance Guidelines, etc.
-Archived Emails in case you miss one of my emails or need to refer back to them
-Information about our AMAZING PTA!
-General info about our school
-Highlights (with pictures and videos) of our current learning that is going on at SRE!
Again, we hope having all of our information in one area is helpful to you.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Afternoon Sendera Ranch Families-
What a wonderful first week we had here at "The Ranch!" We wanted to bring your attention to some events that will be occurring in the coming weeks.
We will keep it the normal 30 minute lunches as well as the normal times. (We are choosing to utilize 2 days in order to avoid parking issues and over crowding the cafeteria.)
Today kicked off our Big Kahuna fundraiser! Your child brought home a packet with information on how to get started. This fund raiser helps support SRE with buying additional resources to help support our curriculum and instruction. The window for this will be from today-September 14th.
We hope that you enjoy this nice long Labor day weekend with your family and friends. We look forward to seeing you back at the Ranch on Tuesday morning.
Thank you,
Principal, John Booles

Dear Longhorn Families,
What a successful first day of school! We loved seeing all of our returning students as well as our new longhorns that joined us this year. If you have first day of school pictures please post them using the district hashtag #nisdfirstday and tagging @SenderaRanchEle
I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for your patience during our dismissal today. As we become more familiar (students and staff alike) with our car dismissal procedures, in the next couple weeks the amount of time it will take will decrease and should be completed by 3:15-3:20. For your convenience here is the link to our arrival and dismissal procedures for your convenience. http://sendera.nisdtx.org/resources/arrival_and_dismissal_procedures
Also, in regards to bus transportation, buses will leave our campus at a more prompt time and stay on schedule with the drop off times that Reliant has provided. Being that it was the first day of school, drivers were doing their best to ensure that all students were accounted for prior to departing SRE. For more information on Reliant transportation please use this link https://www.nisdtx.org/departments/transportation They also provide a "bus-tracker" app that shows in real time where the bus is at.
Thank you again for your patience!! We are looking forward to the best school year yet!
