As a Watch DOG you are expected to have knowledge of all emergency procedures and your role during each. Please see below for a description of each emergency procedure.

Lock classroom door. Turn out lights.
Move students to announced location with class.
Assist teachers with taking role of students.
Weather: Go to shelter area or drop, cover, and hold.
Hazard: Close doors and windows and seal the room.
Clear the halls.
Close and lock the doors.
Assist teachers in taking role. Conduct business as usual.
As a Watch Dog you are expected to take action to support a campus during any situation that may happen.
As a Watch Dog you are expected to participate in drill that may be conducted during your time on campus.

Kids hear what you say and read your body language.
Use appropriate language and keep hands to yourself.
Rumors create doubt and uncertainty, don’t spread them.
Correct misinformation and report rumors to office staff.
Emergency events need to be communicated by NISD personnel.
Do not share emergency event information with other parents or friends.
Every campus employee should have an identifiable badge .
Full time employees have a white badge.
Student teachers have a green badge.
Contract employees have a yellow badge.
All other adults on campus should have a Raptor ‘visitor’ or ‘volunteer’ badge.
All secondary students should be wearing their student ID badge.
NISD doors should NEVER be propped open for any reason or any amount of time.
If a door is propped open, please secure the door and report to campus administration immediately.
Report any door that does not function properly to campus administration.
Signs of malfunction include abnormal sounds such as scraping or rubbing.
Each door should make a latching sound each time it shuts.
Pull each door to ensure it is closed securely.
DOOR SECURITY - WHAT TO LOOK FOR
If the emergency mechanism is pushed in, this means the door is unlocked.
If the interior latch is stuck inside the housing, this means the door will not secure.
If the mullion post between the two doors is missing, the door will not secure.
