Private lessons are an optional and excellent activity open to all choir students. Private lessons are $25 per lesson and a student can take their lesson either during their class, or before or after school, depending on availability of private instructor. Private lessons are a one-on-one type of instruction designed to provide individual growth. See attached form and turn in if interested in private instruction. Lessons will be filled on first come first served basis. Varsity Level students are strongly encouraged to take part in voice lessons if possible.
About our Voice Teacher
Alissa Taylor specializes in teaching the fundamentals for healthy, vibrant, mature, and effortless singing. With 16 years of teaching experience, she empowers singers to build strong, sustainable technique and expressive freedom across a range of styles. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Baylor University (2006) and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of North Texas (2009). Blessed to have taught at multiple North Texas middle schools and high schools, she served primarily at Trinity High School from 2010 to 2023. With a proven track record of success, she has guided numerous students to collegiate degrees in vocal performance and music education. Whether working with beginners or advanced singers, she is committed to helping each student discover and develop their most authentic, confident voice. She is excited to be a part of the team at Adam’s Middle School, working alongside dedicated, passionate, and talented professionals like Ashley Grant and Emily Cowen. Outside the classroom, she is supported by her loving husband of 16 years, Brendan, and their precious 4-year-old daughter, Everly.
