What is the Annual GT Update?

Initially, teachers who have gifted learners in their classrooms must complete 30 Clock Hours in Gifted Education.   Every year following the foundation training,  teachers are required to get an annual 6 Hour GT Update.  GT Updates will be offered throughout the summer and fall.  The GT Update is designed to go deeper into the 30 GT Hour strands.  Teachers should plan on completing the update by March 1 as it will provide them with the tools to help their gifted learners be successful.

Multiple GT Update opportunities are provided by Northwest ISD.  A teacher wishing to earn his/her update from an outside provider should contact the Advanced Academics Department for pre-approval.
