Reading: Monday, 8/18 we will take the MAP test. In class, we will start building reading stamina by reading independently and understand characteristics of well-known children's literature such as folktales, fables, legends, myths, and tall tales.
Writing: Students will write personal narratives as they practice the writing strategies such as brainstorming, freewriting, and mapping out their ideas.
Social Studies: We will focus on geography and learn to interpret and create maps.
Math: We will continue talking about place value though the hundred thousands place. We will use what we know to identify six-digit numbers on a number line, round numbers, and order and compare six-digit numbers.
Science: This week will will begin talking about the states of matter (solid, liquid, and gas). We will also explore how adding or removing heat can change an objects state.
