MAP Testing This Week
We will take our beginning-of-year MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) tests. Second grade students will take the Math MAP test on , Wednesday August 19th and the Reading MAP test on Monday, August 24th. MAP Growth is designed to measure how well a student is learning critical skills. It gives teachers detailed, actionable information they can use to guide instruction and better support students. It measures progress over the school year and across school years in Math and Reading. Our students take the test for the first time in second grade and we will be working with them on testing procedures and instructions prior to starting next week.
You can help your child prepare by making sure they get a good night’s sleep the night before and they eat breakfast to fuel their bodies that morning. If your child is absent on the testing day, they will be making up the test when they return to school.
**Ride Changes now need to be submitted using this link. Please have them submitted by 2:00 p.m.

Please feel free to send a water bottle with your child each day. Sport-top lids work best and prevent spills in the classroom.
Second grade will have a brief snack time around 10:30pm each day. These must be healthy snacks to keep their minds and bodies ready to learn. Please refrain from anything that needs a utensil. It also helps if fresh fruit is pre-washed and cut. A peanut free snack is preferred.
