This week we have been monitoring our reading comprehension by keeping tabs and making adjustments. We will study a section or page from our books and notice what repeats so we can evaluate details to determine key ideas.
Social Studies:
This week Daily Geography we will learn about symbols on a map key and how to use a map.
Writing Workshop:
In writing, we will be learning how to form a claim and start to share evidence from a book or passage.
Phonics/Grammar:
This week during Grammar we will focus on verb tenses, specifically being able to identify if a verb is past, present or future tense. In phonics, we will focus on exceptions to the VCe syllibication rule by studying words such as give, come, some, etc.
Math Workshop:
This week, our mathematicians will finish up lessons in Module 3. We will focus on measurement, which will include: measuring with both nonstandard units and standard units (inches), finding the difference in inches between items, introducing a foot, and introducing a yard.
This week in Science, we will continue begin our unit over force and motion. The students will be able to identify and differentiate between a push or pull, and touching or colliding.
