This week we are learning about:
Reading Workshop:
This week we will learn about how second graders capture their thinking by jotting down ideas about the story we are reading. We will also practice identifying how the characters in a story face conflict.
Social Studies:
This week in Social Studies, we will learn how to be a responsible citizen.
Writing Workshop:
In writing, we will continue to edit and revise our personal narrative stories. We will study how to add details and craft a powerful ending to our stories.
Phonics & Grammar:
During grammar talks we will be focusing on Plural Nouns. In phonics we will continue to review digraphs.
Math Workshop:
We will continue Topic 2 working on strategies to help us at 2 digit numbers. One way to help your child is to make sure they know the tens place and the ones place. For example 57 has 5 tens and 7 ones. You can also work with them on addition fact flunecy within 20.
This week in Science, we are continuing our unit on matter! Your kiddos will continue observing and exploring solids, liquids, and how they change. We will have a summative over matter, its properties, and how it changes on Friday the 11th. Linked is the Kahoot we will use to review in class.
