Goal - Modeling Inquiry Learning in the Library
- I plan to more effectively utilize the engineering design model in the library this year. I used it last year, but need to be more consistent and intentional.
- Provide coaching/training for teachers who are interested in utilizing the same engineering design model in their classroom.
Strand Three - reading
Strand Three - reading
Goal - The librarian uses literacy to connect patrons to real-world events and address social and environmental issues.
- I plan to pair more books with SEL concepts this year as well as start some service learning projects that are centered in the library.
- Books should be connected to the real world and be representative of the students who are in your school. This has been a continual goal for me which I will continue.
- I plan to develop my non-fiction as well as biography sections this year.
Strand Four - digital learning
Strand Four - digital learning
Goal - As students are instructed in the use of emerging technologies, they are guided to be creators of content as opposed to consumers only.
- More fluid use of technology in the library as well as modeling for teachers how to use technology effectively so that students are creators and not consumers.
- More opportunities to coach teachers and co-teach using technology.
- Work more closely with our Instructional Technology Coach in order to coach teachers in the effective use of technology resources.
Strand six - Leadership
Strand six - Leadership
Goal - The librarian incorporates leadership activities, best practices, and professional development across campus, district, and professional communities.
- Continue to provide professional development to other librarians as well as teachers both at the district level and beyond.
- Provide support and guidance for teachers who may need it on campus.
- Assist with our campus goals of increasing student achievement in Reading as well as in Science.
- Specifically focus on how to engage more male students in reading by starting book clubs and focusing on high interest reading.
