I collaborated with 5th grade Science to teach the students how to create a tour builder in Google Tour Builder using Google Earth. Students created a virtual tour of real locations that have evidence of weathering and erosion. Click the picture on the left to view some of the projects. I collaborated with 5th grade Science to teach the students how to create an interactive food web in Buncee. Students then chose one portion of the food web to eliminate and explained how that would impact the ecosystem.
During the time that first grade was learning about weather, we used the green screen in the library to create our own weather forecasts.
Storybird was a hit in both 3rd and 4th grade.
We used it to write poetry as well as to write our own original stories.
Through our library time, students in 4th and 5th grade have all had time to learn about the purpose of their portfolio, what type of work to include in a portfolio and how to personalize it.
We have used Ozobots to start to learn the basics of coding. These robots are great for working on sequencing and following directions. They are also a great tool to teach creativity and perseverance.
