Hello there! We are the Byron Nelson High School Community Awareness Team in Trophy Club, Texas. We are working on a project for HOSA-Future Health Professionals in which we choose a topic and spread awareness on that topic.
We choose antibiotic resistance because it's one of the world's most pressing public health problems nevertheless, 44% of people in the world are not still not informed . Our goal is to spread awareness about this global threat on a wide scale, throughout Denton and neighboring communities.
Recently, we were able to compete at HOSA area level and are now advancing to compete at the state level against other awareness teams.
If you want to help, or partner with us, email us at comfort.ajiboye@student. nisdtx.org.
Our Project:
Have you taken antibiotics? If you have, that’s good because that’s what your doctors had prescribed you to do. However that’s where majority of the problem lies, because not everyone follows that prescription exactly as our doctors want us to. This, causes bacteria to become resistance and it is affecting every region of the world right now. That might sound like a bit of an exaggeration, but soon it might not be. Our goal is to spread awareness about this global threat on a wide scale, throughout Denton and neighboring communities. We started to do this through our school, Byron Nelson High School.
