Foundation Stage

We have two classes in Foundation Stage, the Ladybirds and the Butterflies. They share a large open plan area with exciting areas of provision which can be accessed by both classes throughout the day. We are very lucky to have extensive outdoor areas which are specifically for Foundation Stage, again accessed throughout the day. A brand new covered courtyard has been developed which provides an all weather indoor/outdoor area and has been resourced with lots of new equipment.

There is a teacher and nursery nurse allocated to each class, with an additional teaching assistants who support children across the year group. The day consists of playful learning experiences, which are a mixture of short whole group sessions, small group and 1:1 activities. All learning is planned to meet the individual needs of each child and the Foundation Stage curriculum requirements, though broad, fun and playful first hand experiences.

We work closely with families, pre-schools and nurseries to learn as much about your child before they start with us in September. We hold 'stay and play' sessions, individual meetings with parents and pre-schools/nurseries to learn about the interests and needs of each child. We hope you will be able to join us in person very soon and we will make arrangements as soon as we possibly can.
