The aim of the scheme is to offer support to practice nurses; HCAs and other allied health professionals undertaking research studies in the practice.
Currently, we only offer the mentoring scheme in the following regions: Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Frimley.
The Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) Primary Care Research Nursing Team cover Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Frimley and have a wide range of skills and research knowledge. We appreciate being able to bounce ideas and problems with each other and are aware this is not always available to practice staff who often work on research studies autonomously.

Those in the scheme will be allocated a named RRDN nurse mentor. Your mentor can be approached with your research queries and aims to support you in the optimum delivery of your studies. We cannot promise to know all the answers, but we have access to a network of resources to hopefully point you in the right direction.
Some potential examples of support available:
We may have some top study tips to save you time or an established crib sheet for a specific study. If we aren't working on that study we may be able to buddy you up with another practice who are already recruiting.
There may be shadowing opportunities for some studies which already have RRDN nurses working on them.
How to guides on, for example how to run a search, are being uploaded to the RRDN PRIDES Toolkit.
