Please note:
Ethnicity is not always reliably coded and will be confirmed during screening.
Oral contraceptives and HRT: when stable, usually issued >3 months (& often up to one year) at a time, so last issue within past year used a time cut off. However, women who access Family Planning services may not be coded, so this will be checked during screening.
Pregnancy/breastfeeding/trying to conceive code within past year included.
Active treatment for cancer: chemo/radiotherapy codes within past year used as proxy. However, patients may still be receiving chemo/radiotherapy in secondary care but codes would not necessarily be updated in primary care records. This will be checked during screening.
