Guidance notes for conducting EMIS search:
The search will only identify a small number of patients (20-50). Due to the nature of the eligibility criteria, most patients won't be eligible as they must currently be experiencing a major depressive episode within bipolar disorder. It is up to each practice if they wish to screen more stringently.
Exclusion of pregnancy and breast feeding is not built into the search but can be added manually.
