study information, in particular search files.

This area is part of the CRN Primary Care Research Informatics and Digital Environment Solutions (PRIDES) Service and has been

 developed to allow the sharing of Health Informatics and digital solutions to help enable research delivery. 

Search Files

The search files hosted on this website are based on the inclusion/exclusion criteria as described in the study protocol and have been built with input from our local GP Champion team.  Every effort is made to keep the search files hosted on this website maintained and up-to-date. However, it is the responsibility of the local Investigator to review the search and make any practice specific amendments as deemed necessary*.

Please DO NOT mail out to patients until you have confirmation and sign off ('green light') from the study team.

About Thames Valley and South Midlands PRIDES

Primary care IT is provided by many different software providers but the majority work with two systems; EMIS Web and SystmOne.

In order to do research in primary care each practice is required to use their software system to search data. This is a complex and time consuming process which creates an increased margin for error within each practice and across practices.

The aim of TVSM Research Solutions is to support and develop the IT framework and tools for research in Primary Care. Making them easily available to GP practices involved in research in order to reduce administrative burden and improve recruitment and involvement in research studies.

The basic concept is to utilise EMIS Web and SystmOne to develop searches, pop-ups and templates which are detailed, accurate and quality assured. These health informatics will be shared electronically using this website and where possible the clinic system's sharing platforms across the across the TVSM region.
