About this Privacy Notice


This privacy notice relates to collecting, recording and storing information described in this privacy notice for publication on the Ethnic Minority Research Inclusion (EMRI) project website. This project is sponsored by the CRN Yorkshire and Humber until March 2023.


In this privacy notice, ‘we’ or ‘us’ means the CRN Yorkshire and Humber EMRI project group; ‘you’ or ‘your’ means you as a user of the website. 


This privacy notice tells you what information we collect and how it is used to support the delivery of the project, including your rights and how to contact us.


What is the Ethnic Minority Research Inclusion Project?

We are a Network of research staff and members of the public from across the Yorkshire and Humber region, working alongside the Clinical Research Network Yorkshire and Humber, with a shared interest in increasing levels of participation in health research within Ethnic Minority communities throughout Yorkshire and Humber.

General Data Protection Regulation Legal Basis

The CRN Yorkshire and Humber EMRI Project Coordination Team is the Data Controller for the personal information collected and processed about you in accordance with data protection legislation.


Our legal basis for collecting personal information through the website under GDPR is:

Withdrawing your consent to hold your information

If you change your mind and would like to withdraw your permission for your information to be held by the EMRI project, you can do so by contacting us at emri.crnyorkshumber@nihr.ac.uk


Where you withdraw your permission, your information will be permanently deleted from our system and removed from the website.

Updating your details

If you need to update any of the information you have provided, you will need to email emri.crnyorkshumber@nihr.ac.uk and we will update our information accordingly.

Where we store your personal information

The EMRI project coordination team processes your personal information for the EMRI project in the United Kingdom. Your information will be stored securely on the NIHR hub which complies with ISO 27001 and access will be restricted to those members of the EMRI project team for the purposes for which it is intended.


The website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google to analyse how users interact with the website. You may decline the use of cookies, which collects usage data  for analysis,  by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. We use records of the pages users have visited to analyse trends so we can improve the website. These records do not contain any personal information about website users.
