Community Mental Health Knowledge Exchange

The Community Mental Health Framework (CMHF) is starting to drive innovation and generate integrated population and place-based systems of community mental health care in England. The aim of this knowledge exchange is to share the learning and insights both from our work linked to different Integrated Care Systems since 2019, as well as from other research and evaluation teams across the UK.

Some of our overarching conclusions are: that this system change is very much work in progress; that each site has developed innovations and overcome challenges; and that improvement requires attention to culture change, integration of teams, leadership, cross sector working and supervision.

It is our hope that this resource can help you think about how you can change your local mental health systems and we encourage you to get involved with us and contribute to this resource yourselves.

John and Naheen discuss their hopes for the changes being made as a result of the Community Mental Health Framework, drawing on their experience of using mental health services.
