2. Examining the Professionalism and Ethical Behavior indicator
Read the Professionalism and Ethical Behavior indicator overview on page 54 of the Supervisor Handbook.
Identify key terms, phrases, connections, and examples that are essential to the development of aspiring teachers.
Inquire: How might you incorporate the Professionalism and Ethical Behavior key terms, phrases, connections, and examples during coaching conversations?

3. Professional and Ethical Behavior Rubric Annotations
Read the descriptors listed for the Professionalism and Ethical Behavior indicator.
Compare descriptors across achievement levels to determine similarities and differences.
Make notes on your copy of the aspiring teacher rubric.
4. Alignment of Professionalism and Ethical Behavior Expectations
Look for alignment between your program's professionalism expectations and the Aspiring Teacher Rubric Professionalism and Ethical Behavior indicator. Make notes on the two documents.
Identify areas where the two resources are in alignment.
Identify areas where the two resources are not in alignment.

6. Indicator Chart Review
Submit ideas around behavior that could be observed for two additional descriptors listed below and note how you might coach and support these behaviors in the Google form provided following the model in the video.
Focus Descriptors:
The aspiring teacher seeks out new learning and attempts to implement new applicable learning in the classroom.
The aspiring teacher makes thoughtful and accurate assessments of his/her lessons’ effectiveness as evidenced by his/her self-reflection.

7. Observe a Mentor Teacher in Action
Watch the short clip of an aspiring teacher engaging students in a story aloud linked below.
As you watch, record what the aspiring teacher does and says to support student learning.

8. Observe a Daily Debrief
Next, we’ll watch a short clip of a daily debrief between the mentor teacher and the aspiring teacher.
As you watch, write down what the mentor says to provide feedback and to coach the aspiring teacher. Then submit your responses to the reflection questions in the Google form below.
