Interested in joining the Opportunity Black Isle board?
It's up to us as a community to make the Plan a reality.
To do that, a community-led Board - called the Opportunity Black Isle Board - was created in Autumn 2025. Their job is to make the Plan happen by supporting, encouraging and persuading the public sector, community organisations and businesses.
We're looking for people who live or work on the Black Isle, and care about its future.
If you love the Black Isle, this is a great opportunity to volunteer, make a difference and build a better Black Isle for the future.

To advocate and champion the Black Isle Local Place Plan, to ensure that it is known to all relevant public, private and third sector organisations, and to encourage those organisations to actively refer to and take account of the Local Place Plan when making decisions that affect the Black Isle and its residents.
To support existing and new groups organised by local residents whose objectives progress the aspirations of Black Isle residents as set out in the Local Place Plan.
To focus on pan-Black Isle issues and challenges as set out in the Black Isle Local Place Plan.
To ensure that the Black Isle Local Place Plan remains relevant and current, and that it reflects the changing needs and demographics of the residents of the Black Isle.
To sit on the Mid-Ross Community Planning Partnership.
To act in the interests of all residents on the Black Isle.
Membership of the Board is open to:
Highland Council Councillors representing the Black Isle (from Ward 8: Dingwall & Seaforth and Ward 9: Black Isle).
Up to five Community Councillors nominated by Community Councils on the Black Isle.
Five Black Islers who must meet certain criteria contained in the Terms of Reference.
An independent chair selected fromn the Board or the wider public.
