Quiet, distraction reduced test environment
A distraction reduced testing environment is a setting outside the usual classroom that limits interruptions.
Reader and or scribe for exams
A “reader” using technological device such as ReadSpeaker which reads text on written exams.
A scribe is someone who writes or types what a student dictates for a written exam.
Class Notes/ Notetaker
A volunteer classmate may provide a supplemental summary of class content either as a photo copy or as an email attachment. Notes are provided as a supplement to the classroom experience. It is not intended to replace regular classroom attendance or participation. Instructors may provide a copy of their PowerPoint or an outline of the class lecture.
Sign Language Interpreter
A sign language interpreter provides communication for deaf or hard of hearing students with American Sign Language.
Reduced Course Load
A reduced course load allows a student to register for a course load that is less than full-time while still being considered a full time student.
Emergency Evacuation Assistance
Emergency assistance for evacuations refers to the need for a student to receive help in exiting the building in the event of an emergency.
