Do I Have What it Takes?
Successful CBE Students...
Are flexible-thinkers
Are self-motivated to learn independently
Are goal-oriented
Demonstrate a growth mindset and ask for help when needed
Are able to complete assignments and reflections in writing
Can manage time well and commit time for each course
CBE can work especially well for students that have:
Life/work experience that pertains to the course content
Work/family constraints that make regular attendance difficult
Some prior knowledge in the course content allows them to move more quickly through the content
CBE students are self-starters who demonstrate growth mindset.
Can I Afford a CBE Program?
If you're worried about financial aid, we've got you covered. All of the same rules about financial aid for non-CBE courses apply to semester-based CBE courses.
You will need to:
demonstrate satisfactory academic progress (logging in to the course, meeting with your instructor, or complete some of the summative assessments),
maintain a minimum GPA, and
demonstrate competency on all of the required course materials before the end of the term.
For questions about paying for your education, contact NICC's Financial Aid Office.
