8th grade students have options for high school outside of the school that they are assigned to. The information below covers some of the options for the Signature Programs the county offers.
2024-25 Process
Hello students and parents. I am the 8th grade counselor this year and will be supporting your students with the high school transition process. Whether they are set on one of our traditional high schools or they have aspirations of attending one of our specialty programs - we will cover the processes for all.
Specialty Program Info Nights -
*Individual programs’ in-house presentation nights (all begin at 6:00 p.m.):
December 2 - Southeastern Area Technical High School (SEA-Tech) (auditorium)
December 3 - Wilmington Early College High School (BB&T Auditorium)
December 4 - Laney STEM (media center)
December 5 - Isaac Bear Early College High School (UNCW)
December 9 - Career Readiness Academy at Mosley (media center)
December 10 - New Hanover Lyceum (Lyceum central space)
December 11 - Hoggard International Baccalaureate (cafeteria)
December 12 - Ashley Marine Science Academy (MSA classroom)
24/25 dates for the Specialty Programs application -
December 13th - Specialty Programs will release the "video prompt" topic so you can start planning out your ideas over break.
January 6 - 19 - Application window is open (all components due by 6:00 p.m., January 19)
