Our Supply List

Thanks so much for your help!  Most supplies will be collected and distributed to share within our three fourth grade classrooms. Please only label the two indicated items.

• 1 large pack of Expo dry-erase markers (thin and black)

• 3 marble composition journals (wide-ruled) 

• personal headphones (in Ziploc bag, labeled with name)

• 1 clear-pocket, three-ring, one-inch binder (labeled with name)

• 1 large pack of pre-sharpened pencils

• 1 pack of 3 X 3 post-it notes

• 1 pack of highlighters

• 1 pack of 10 thick, colored markers

• 2 packs of 12 or 24 colored pencils

• 3 heavy-duty, plastic, two-pocket folders with prongs

Our Curricula

We follow the NC Standard Course of Study for language arts. Here is a link to a parent guide. In addition, we use the Wit and Wisdom curricular program selected by New Hanover County Schools.

7:10 to 7:40 -- Arrival & Morning Work

7:40 to 7:50 -- Morning Meeting

7:50 to 9:05 -- Block One

9:05 to 10:20 -- Block Two

10:20 to 11:35 -- Block Three

11:40 to 12:10 -- Lunch

12:15 to 12:40 -- Recess

12:45 to 1:30 -- Specials

1:30 to 2:10 -- Power-Up

2:10 to 2:15 -- Pack Up 

2:15 -- Dismissal


Our Class Community
Supporting a positive classroom community is very important to us.  In addition to our school-wide Codington Can CARE principles, our class is formatted around a Star Wars theme that includes rules and rewards. Students can earn individual tickets and class credits for behaviors that are cooperative, prosocial, helpful, and engaged; These items are exchanged for individual and class rewards, privileges, or activities.

Our grade also promotes a positive community through the integration of the principles of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the Harmony character education program.  These principles are directly taught to children and reinforced daily.
