• We will begin our unit on the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers and preschoolers

• Guest speakers: We had a family come in and share about a day in the life of raising their two children. Students played games and worked with the visiting children (5 years and 2 years) at stations and then they had Q&A time with the guest parents.

• Guest speaker: Our class volunteer, Ms. Sparrow came in and shared about the importance of cognitive development as reinforcement for our PIES unit

• Students worked on collaborative posters for their final projects to reflect what they have learned in their PIES unit.

• Students worked on reflections of what they liked about storytelling and why it is important to read to children

• We will focus on baby swaddling and comforting babies when they need to be soothed

• We ended the week with an after school babysitting activity outside on Friday!

• We have been continuing to learn the cognitive stages of earl childhood development with a focus on infants 0-12 months

• We will continue to learn tasks that will help students earn their Myrtle Grove Middle School babysitting certificate

• We will focus on baby swaddling and comforting babies when they need to be soothed

• PIES Activities - Learning more about physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs
