Mrs. James is privileged to be able to serve as the choir director at NHHS. She loves working in a choral setting and has been active in choral music throughout her career. Mrs. James graduated from Grove City College with a BM in Music Education. She majored in voice as a Mezzo Soprano and also played tuba in many ensembles. Since graduating, Mrs. James has taught at Lumberton Jr. High School and Burgaw Elementary and saw both programs grow. Her goal for this program is to grow in excellence and musical ability at each level and in each choir.

NHHS is a special place for Mrs. James, her sons will one day go to the school and it is a home away from home. She enjoys spending her time out of school with her three boys. Mrs. James loves the works of composers ranging from early polyphony to modern composers, such as Eric Whitacre and Ola Gjeilo. She also enjoys listening to Jazz Standards in her spare time.
