Hanover Singers performing at Winter Concert 2021
The Proficient/Advanced Vocal Music course, also known as the Hanover Singers, is an upper level, auditioned chorus of mixed voices. Students in this course will focus on performance (show choir and classical), challenging repertoire, extensive sight-singing exercises, and becoming individual music leaders/performers. This class receives honors credit due to the many performance commitments the ensemble has throughout the school year. Auditions for this group are at the end of every spring semester using the NC State Honor Chorus audition rubric. Some auditions will be offered only if a spot opens at the end of the fall semester. This class participates in up to 4 scheduled performances each fall and spring semester, along with additional performances within the community.
Hanover Singers is a group that reaches for excellence in our music and in our classroom experience. We participate in events in our community and serve to build our community through music. We sing music that ranges from the Middle Ages to current repertoire written by living composers.
